TAUBMANS EXPANSION
Mr. H. Taubman, chairman of Taubmans, Ltd., paint manufacturers, Sydney and Wellington, (N.Z.), said that during the year sales had. expanded. Measures were being taken in Soutti Australia to associate more closely th» company's activities in marketing its products. . The inter-State: shipping strike last year had had a prolonged and adverse effect on the Western Australian trade, and it had taken a considerable time to make up the leeway. Australian conditions. \ he continued, had been generally favourable to the industry. The revival of building had been largely responsible, and also increased interest was being taken by people in home properties. "As our factory supplies products in large volume to a great number of important manufacturing industries," he continued, "the continuance and expansion of these constitute a vital factor in our production. The less disturbance to that section of the present Customs tariff which serves to protect the secondary interests of Australia, tna surer will be the absorption of unemployed labour by the industries of the Commonwealth. With a continuance of favourable seasons and satisfactory world prices for our primary products, provided there are no international complications, we look forward to this coming year with every confidence, of recording a successful and progressive one."
