ACCIDENTAL DEATH
FALL THROUGH SKYLIGHT
A finding that death was due to accident was given by the Coroner, Mr. E. Gilbertson, after an inquest this morning into the death of Jim Dickenson, a carpenter. The finding was that Dickenson died on December 15 at the Wellington Public Hospital from injuries received in a fall earlier in the day through a skylight in the roof of the Wairarapa Farmers' wool store, Thorndon, on to a concrete floor.
Evidence given by a witness who was working near the deceased revealed that Dickenson was walking along the roof carrying a sheet of iron. Apparently the wind, which was blowing fairly strongly, blew him on to the skylight, through which he crashed.
Sergeant J. Edwards conducted the inquest.
