HEART OPERATION
EXPERIMENT IN ENGLAND
(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, November 28. Newspapers report that an operation was performed in Newcastle Hospital in a case of angina pectoris which, if finally successful, will constitute a remarkable advance in surgery. The heart was joined to vascular tissue through the diaphragm in such a way as to augment the blood supply. The patient, who is over 50 years of age, was operated on three weeks I ago and is slowly recovering.
