A NEW LECTURER
CANTERBURY COLLEGE

CHRISTCHURCH, November 30.
Dr. G. Jobberns was appointed lecturer in geography at Canterbury- College today by the college council on the recommendation of the college committee. Dr. Jobberns's appointment is from February 1, 1937.
Dr. Jobberns is a graduate of Canterbury College. He obtained the Master of Arts degree in 1921 with firstclass honours in geology, winning the Sir Julius yon Haast prize for special excellence in that subject. In 1923 he obtained the degree of Bachelor of Science, and in 1930 he was elected a Fellow of the American Geographical Society of New York. He was awarded the Doctor of Science degree this year.
