AT "FIVE O'CLOCK"
PRE-WEDDING PARTY
There was a very cheery "five o'clock" party at Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Duncan's home, 60 Murphy Street, yesterday, when they entertained Miss! Betty Herbert and Mr. George Milne, j whose wedding will take place early this month, and a number of their friends. The folding doors between the drawing-room and dining-room were opened, making one large recep-l tion room which a crackling fire and bowls of irises, and pink and mauve lupins made very attractive on such a miserable, wet day. Bands of black fox fur trimmed the! three-quarter-length coat of a figured! navy blue and white crepe de chine ensemble worn by the hostess. Miss Herbert wore a navy blue sheer crepe tailored frock trimmed with white. The other guests were Mr. and Mrs. John Duncan, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Cooke, Paymaster Lieut.-Commander W. G. Hewson and Mrs. Hewson,- Mr. Jack Bristed, Mrs. Gladstone (Waipawa), Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Whyte, Miss Helen Whyte, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Brandon, Miss Violet Hutchison, Miss Grace Booth, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Reid, Miss Jill Moodie (Napier), Mrs. Jim Vogel, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Whyte, Mrs. Brian Todd, Miss Betty Reading, Miss Lorna Brodie, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Young, Mr, and Mrs. W. O. Pritchard, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Buhrer, Mrs. Crooks (Japan), Mr. Dan Webster, and Mr. Bob Watson.
