POLICE PROSECUTIONS

Prosecutions under the motor vehicles regulations were dealt with byMr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today. Sub-Inspector C. E. Roach prosecuted. For aiding the offence of driving without a licence, George Bassett Ste-< phenson was fined 10s and costs. For driving with insufficient lights, Arthur George Cornwell, Alexander Irving. Culley, Sidney Neal, and David Alfred Jones were convicted and ordered to pay costs, and Cedric William Luke Walker and John Williams were each fined 10s and costs. For riding his cycle on a footpath, lan Willard was fined 10s and costs: For negligent driving, Donald Murray Poison was fined 10s and costs, 19s, and John Angus Dunlop was fined £2 and costs. For driving without due care and attention, Leo Reginald Gornall was fined 10s and costs, Nigel Vale Connell, 20s and costs, and James Theodore Inkersell £!•? and costs and his licence was suspended for three months. For failing to give way at an intersection, Dr, Alan Tennant and George Gregory Brown were each fined £2 and costs. For driving in the wrong direction in a one-way street, Redvers Dundonald Thomson was fined 10s and costs. For not parking a car securely, Perceval Murray White was fined 10s and costs. Constable McJannett jumped on the running board and stopped the car when it was moving slowly down an incline. For operating a motor vehicle with an insufficient silencer, Curzon Hansard, John Watts, Roy Want, Horace Goodyer, and Thomas Sharp were each fined 10s and costs, and Frank Holton was convicted and ordered to pay costs. For operating a vehicle (a special truck for work on beaches) with insufficient brakes, Frank Holton was convicted and discharged. For failing to give way to a tram, Bruce lan Campbell was fined 10s and costs. For failing to keep to the left Eric Franklin Bellman was fined £1 and costs £1 2s. For a parking offence, Alfred Reginald Cliffe was fined 10s and costs.
