SPORTS MEETINGS
The gala day and sports meeting which was to have been conducted last Saturday by the Johnsonville branch of the Returned Soldiers' Association will now be held next Saturday, arrangements having been made with the Johnsonville Cricket Club for the use of the Recreation Ground. There will be a comprehensive athletic programme. The morning will be devoted to children's events and in the afternoon the proceedings will open with a parade of athletes. Excellent entries have been received and several of Wellington's best-known performers will be seen in action, including A R. Wilson, provincial mile champion, T. J. Crowe, New. Zealand highjump champion, W. Ogg, and J. Rid--The Wellington Amateur Athletic Centre's meeting, set down for Saturday next, is now, to beheld on December. 19. The Petone Club's Laykold Cup meeting is to be held on December 12.
