SHIPS TO PORTUGAL
SUGGESTED APPLICATION
■ (Received December 1, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, November 30. At question time in the House of Commons, Mr. J. R. Rathbone (Conservative) and others suggested that the prohibition of the carrying of munitions should apply to vessels sailing for Portugal, as, in view of Portuguese sympathies, the Bill may operate, like the non-intervention agreement, exclusively to the detriment of the Spanish Government. The Foreign Secretary, Mr. Anthony Eden, expressed the opinion that for military reasons it was extremely unlikely that Portugal especially would be guilty of supplying munitions to Spain. ,
