ITALIAN COMMENT
SELASSIE'S GENEVA CLAIM TERMINATED
LONDON, November 28. The Rome correspondent of "The Times" says it is hoped that the capture of Gore has dealt a death-blow to the myth of a Western Ethiopian Government. Moreover, as the troops were not resisted but were warmly received the political situation arising from Haile Selassie's claim at Geneva has been terminated. The Italians are expecting the occupation of Gambela, 100 miles west of Gore.
A London cable published on Saturday stated that the Exchange Telegraph Company's Addis Ababa correspondent reported that Italian troops from Lekempti had occupied Gore, finding no trace of the provisional Abyssinian Government which was supposed to be functioning there. The population enthusiastically welcomed the troops, to whom a number of chiefs made submission.
