MIRAMAR SEASON
CLOSING POSTPONED
The weather at Miramar was most unsuitable for the mixed foursomes which were to have closed the winter season on Saturday, but, as many players, including ladies, had: gathered, it was decided to hold the annual prizegiving in the dining-room. . , The president of the club (Mr. A. E. Mabin) spoke of the <keen interest shown in. the, club during the season. No fewer than 223 had been present on the opening day. The entry for the Prince of Wales Cup (116) had been a record. The club's younger players had come to the front in a most encouraging way. .Tracing the success of the club'in. inter-club competitions, the president went on to deal with club events, and mentioned that Mr. E. H. Liddle had offered another trophy next year to commemorate his thirtyfirst year as member. • Mr. Mabin congratulated the winners of the women's (Mrs. H. Pearce) and men's (C. H. Hollis) championships. The club captain (Mr. D. R. Richmond) said that a new feature of the coming season would be a summerprogramme, for which large entries were expected.
