CHAMPIONS MEETS
WIN FOR W. DAVIDGE
(Special to the "Evening Post.") PALMERSTON N.; This Day. W. Davidge, Shandon Club, is the new Wellington-Hawke's Bay provincial golf champion. He secured this title over the weekend in a contest between club champions and ex-cham-pions, held on the Manawatu Club's course at Hokowhitu. He finished, with an aggregate of 145—three strokes ahead of Max Moore, of Miramar, who, however, equalled A. J. Shaw's course record of 68. B. M. Silk. (Hutt) was in third place, followed by A. D. S. Duncan (Masterton) and J. L. Black (Hutt), who were equal fourth. The programme was .one of five events, the most important of which was the 36-hole stroke competition for the Champion of Champions Challenge Shield won last year by J. P. Hornabrook, whp did not 4 defend the title. The day resulted in a triumph for Davidge and Moore. Details were:— I
