PETONE LADIES' CLUB
The I'ctone Ladies' Club is rtniwin'c to n close a. most successful and enjoyable season. The attendance has been excellent, and the shooting keen. The year is a. memorable one for the club, as the close of the season marks its 21st anniversary, the club bbing founded in January,KilC. It was the first.llulies" niiiiiature rifle club in New Zealand and. Australia. The event is to be celebrated at a dinner on December 5, at which three foundation members will be present, Jlrs. E. C. Wild, who is still an active member , and . keen supporter of.*he club, Mrs. h< A. SticWells (first club captain) and Mrs. Scroggs (first club treasurer). •
The shootinp over the season has been most satisfactory, great improvement being shown among the new. members. A splendid-possible of 100 was recently scored by Miss B. Scott. A.Christmas shoot is to be held aAoug the ladies on the last nijrht of- the season.
The club's social evening and presentation of trophies will bo held in the Masonic Hall, Petone, on December 32. 1936 club championships:—A -grade, Jliss B. Scott; runner-up, Mrs..J.
