PLACEMENT FIGURES
Another record for the placement of workers throughout the Dominion was set by the placement service of the Labour Department last week, Avork being found for 1076 men, an increase of 46 on the total for the previous weelc. The permanent placements Avere 7224, an increase of 78, casual 2996, and temporary 3750. The Wellington office headed the list Avith 1944 placements, of which 800 Avere permanent, 435 casual, and 709 temporary. Auckland came next Avith a total of 1674, and Dunedin was third with 1426.
