VOLUNTARY SURRENDER

AUCKLAND, This Day.
Two men who escaped by jumping from a window to a roof, a distance of twenty feet, when two-up premises were raided in Swanson Street on Friday night, Nicholas Jack Logpur, 44, a picture framer, and Jack Marino, 38, a beauty parlour employee, appeared voluntarily and pleaded guilty at the Police Court this morning. Each was fined £2.
Logpur broke a leg in the jump but it was a wooden one.
A Rhode Island Red hen acts as guardian to four Manx kittens when their mother is away, and even when she is not, at Manor Farm, Botley, Hampshire, the home of Mrs. S. Hammerlon.
