GOVERNMENT CAUCUS
CALLED FOR NEXT / WEEK
There is to be a caucus <>f the Government Party at Welling ton, commencing on Tuesday mornj ng next.
The Prime Minister (tj ie Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) said today /- that no particular significance attij ched to the fact that a caucus was bci ing held during the recess. Such me ;etings would be held periodically dur^i .ig the recess, and would enable the Government to keep closely in touch \ji ith the whole of the Dominion. M<3 mbers of the party would be able to-' submit reports regarding undertakings/ in their respective electorates, e«f id this would enable Cabinet to be) fully informed of the situation throughout the country. ;
A good save was i effected by the Eastbourne Fire Brijj ade when it was called to an outbreak; about 4 p.m. yesterday at the reside! ice of Mr. H. J. Palmer, 31 Tuatoru ; Street. The fire had commenced in i he kitchen, but it was confined to that; room and quickly suppressed. The j nsurances on the house and furnituri •. are about £550 and £150 respectif/ely, both in the States Office. *
