AERO CLUB TROUBLES

A SPECIAL MEETING

OFFICERS TO REMAIN

The management of the Wellington Aero Club has not been running smoothly for some time and cause for ■a distinct division of opinion arose when the resignation of the club's pilot instructor, Squadron-Leader G. L. Stcdman, was announced. ■

Club members split into two groups. One supported the actions and deci-' sions of the executive elected at the an^ nual meeting in September, and thg other desired to see the committee • management put into other hands, witjn certain exceptions. /

Accordingly this group took steps tt d have the dispute brought before a spej > ial: meeting,-which was held last night, in the following motion:— (

That the seats on the commits cc held by the three vice-presidents, f he treasurer, and all other members, of the committee, save the presicj ent (Mr. T. C. A. Hislop), Mr. C.i W. Batten, and Mr. A. A. Whitelaw ? be declared vacant.

There was an attendance of ni :arly 200 members, and by the decisic n of the meeting the discussion was ft taken in committee. ,:

It is understood that the majority vote was in support of the q lotion, which, under the . rules of thi: club, however, required a two-thirds( majority for formal adoption. Thr 3 position, therefore, is that the c* ecutive remains in office, with the excej otion of Mr. C. W. Batten, who tendered { his resignation. '■
