MR. R. H. BARBER
Mr. Richard Henry Barber, well known in the Foxton and Te Horo district, died on Monday night at his residence, Te Horo, aged 72 years. He was a son of the late Mr. James Barber, a pioneer settler and business man of Wellington. Mr. R. H. Barber served his apprenticeship to the engineering trade at Messrs. Robertson and Co.'s Phoenix Foundry, and subsequently commenced business on his own account at Foxton. About 15 years ago he took up farming at Te Horo, where he had since resided.
Mr. Barber leaves a wife, a son (Mr. Western Barber, Te Horo), a daughter (Mrs. H. Signal, Te Horo), and two brothers, Messrs. W. E. Barber (Motuiti) and Mr. G. Barber (Wellington).
The funeral took place at Otaki yesterday afternoon.
