CROWDS AT THE PARK.
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—Your excellent sub-leader on the lack of accommodation at Athletic Park during Rugby Test matches brought back recollections of a disagreeably—in patches—afternoon at the Australia-New Zealand clash last month. When I arrived at the Park abou^ 12.45 p.m. there did not seem to be room for a rabbit on the western bank. However, by some judicious pushing and shoving I acquired a few square inches on the hillside and, with thousands of others, endured much discomfort—thanks to the Rugby Union's short-sighed policy of not making provision for Test match crowds. The outlook for next year when the Springboks play is not pleasant for those who patronise the "bank.". The public would prefer a change—and a chance to see the big matches in reasonable comfort.—l am, etc.,
OLD BOY,
