DRINKING AT DANCES
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—With reference to the above matter, and to the doubts expressed by your correspondent, E. E. Young, regarding the extent of the alleged evil as put before the City Council recently by a women's deputation, I suggest that the opportunity be taken of getting evidence from the taxi-drivers during the inquiry now being held into the conditions of the taxi business. I would like to inform Mr. Young, and others who think with him on this subject, that the allegations submitted by the women's deputation are only too well founded, as taxi-drivers can testify. No one is better acquainted with the facts than the average taximan.—l am, etc.,
PATERFAMILIAS.
