THE ZETLAND STAKES
SYDNEY, September 23,
At the Victoria Park races today, principal interest .centred in the Zetland Stakes, in which a number of Epsom Handicap candidates were engaged. The following was the result of the
ZETLAND STAKES, £500; 1 mile. Jas. Carr's b h Prittle Prattle, by Heroic—Gabbelgash, 4yrs, 7.7. (W. Cook) 1 Silver Standard, 7.5 (Knox) ' Gid, 8.5 (Richards) ;
Twelve started, including Gay Sheik, who was fourth, and Panax, who wa3 eleventh. Three-quarters of a length; two lengths and a half. Time,' lmin 37sec.
Golden Gate was second in the first division of the Flying Handicap, in which Prince Pombal was unplaced. Capris was second in the second division, in which the joint Epsom Handi« cap favourite Gay Lover was fourth.
Hands Up was third and Cerne Abbas and Raepata were unplaced in the Novice Handicap, which was won by The Athenian. After being cut off at the start, The Athenian scored an impressive win.
Happy Landing was unplaced in th« Victoria Park Handicap.
