FRUIT INQUIRY
FURTHER EVIDENCE HEARD
Although the order of reference for the committee appointed by the Minister of Industries and Commerce (the Hon. D. G. Sullivan), to inquire into the marketing of New Zealand and imported fruit and vegetables is a wide one, it does not include the question of the embargo on Australian citrus fruits, and no evidence is being heard on that matter.
'The committee, which consists of Messrs. A. Coleman (chairman), J. A. Campbell, Director of Horticulture,- and J. E. Thomas, of the Department of Industries and Commerce, heard further evidence today. It will sit here tomorrow and Monday, and leave on Monday night for Nelson, where it will hear further evidence before returning to Wellington to" begin its final sitting here on October 8, and then make its report to the Minister.
