RING NOTES AT RANDOM Inter-State Stadiums has decided to conduct a series of elimination wrest* ling contests for the Australasian championship. ' The title was formerly held by Clarence Weber until he was defeated by the 22st Maori,. Ike Robin, who wrestled in the, boom days. The loser of each contest will be given an» other opportunity "of meeting a Joser of another section. The return contest between Billy Aitken and Clarrie Rayner, which was to have taken place at Blenheim this week, has been postponed owing to an injury to Aitken's hand. The bout is now to take place some time during the next three weeks. The postpone* ment of this match enabled the Wanga* nui Association to proceed with iit contest between Rayner and Hall. The Miramar Boxing Club will take the Lou Smith' Shield to Newtown on September 30 to defend it against the local club. As a number of the representatives of both clubs; were prominent during the recent -championship tournaments, some good boxing should be seen when the trophy is.contested, particularly because of the rivalry between the clubs. • r * "Young" Delaney; the lightweight boxer imported by the Auckland Association, has returned td Australia. Delaney exhibited a pleasing style, but was lacking in experience and ruggedness. ■ . .'.■''■
