LUTTRELL'S ERROR
KNOCKED OUT BY SEM! In his match against the' Fijian Semi at Auckland recently,' Val Luttrell made the mistake of trying to open up and exchange punch for punch with his opponent, this having a. disastrous result. A .powerful left swing to the jaw dropped him to the | canvas for the count of soon ■ after the start and from then onward the New Zealander was in a weak condition. Semi was continually seeking an opening for his left and, when the bout had been in progress two minutes, he connected cleanly with Luttrell's jaw. This blow shook the New Zealander badly, steadying him for a second left rip to the solar plexus, which dropped him again to the mat. He had not risen ,at the full count, Semi being awarded the decision. The contest was witnessed by ,a large attendance, which was quick to applaud the winner for his forceful display.
