OLD BOYS' DANCE
FRANCIS' HALL CROWDED . Pride 1 of place in the decorations for the; dance,which the Wellington-branch of the Christ's College iOld Boys' 'Association held in St. Francis Hall last night was; given to the college crest. It hung in the' centre of the ..gallery, which was decoratecl _ with the college colours, black and white,. • combined with the colours of the Old Boys' Association, white, blue, and gold. Most of the decorations were in black and white, and the effect; was onuch gayer 1 , than one > would imagine. Streamers radiated to the walls from a mirror" ball hanging oyer the centre of the ballroom floor, and on the walls there were placards with the names of the college houses. The stage,, where the orchestra was seatedj had stall jars of pink magnolia and bamboo on;either side, and along the front blossom; magnolia, pink stock, and greenery were attractively arranged; , '■:■:■ • w■'::■. Flowers were also'used to decorate the upstairs .lounge and- the supperroom downstairs,' where black rand white streamers again, predominated. These; Cbllege' Old, Boys' 1 and Old Girls' Association 'dances have become very'popular during" the- 'past' ; few years. ' Last night St.' Francis' Hall was crowded with well-known people and there were quite a number of country visitors. The president of the Old Boys' Association, Mr. A. P. Harper, was' among those present. Those on the dance committee were Messrs. A- A. Roberts (hon. secretary), P. R. Grant, Eric Nathan, and D. H. Arthur. AN ATTRACTIVEFASTENING . Scallops! .a large button in thaicentre of each, make, an attractive fastening down the centre front of cotton frocks.
