NO USE FOR HITLER
The French authorities have threatened with prosecution a peasant of Mellionnec, Cortes du Nord, who had his infant son baptised with the first name Hitler. The legal action implies no offence to this Chancellor of the German Reich. It'is taken because French statutes provide that first names must l be taken fr6m. the calendar of saints' or chosen* among Bible names in the case ..of. Je)vs. The father of the child in this instance stated he desired- to name his.son after the German Chancellor, but to avoid prosecu-tion-it 1 is understood he will agree to substitute; the approved' name Hilaire, which very; closely approximates Hitler as pronounced in French.
