OTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of the Wellington City Council held on Monday, September 7, 1936, • the following, resolution was passed;— The Wellington City Council hereby makes by Special Order the following bylaw under and by virtue of and in exercise and in pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in it by "The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1908," and its 1 Amendments, "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933," and "The Wellington City Abattoir Charges and Renewal Fund. Act, 1919," and of all other powers and authorities enablihg.it in. that behalf. The short title of this bylaw is "The Wellington City Consolidated Bylaw Amendment No. 10 (Abattoir), 1936." The object and purport of the bylaw are:—(l) To amend the scale of charges at the .Wellington City Abattoir by increasing the charges and fees as follows: (i) For the use of the abattoir: (a) Large cattle, 2a to 2s 6d; (b) calves, Is to: is :6d; (c) sheep and lambs, 3%d to 4V4d, the charge for pigs not being altered and remaining at Is 6d; (ii) To increase the fees chargeable in respect of meat sold or exposed for sale in the Citv of Wellington or in any district for which the City Abattoir is avaih able from stock that has been slaughtered at a licensed Meat Export Slaughter House or at any Abattoir other than the City Abattoir as follows:—(a) Large cattle, Is 'Bd to 2s 2d; (b) calves, Uftd to Is s%d;'(c) sheep and lambs, 3%d to 4ttd, the fee for: pigs not being increased and remaining at Is 5%d. (2) To provide that the charges for. the housing, yarding, or paddocking of stock per day shall commence immediately on receipt at the Abattoir instead of commencing twentyfour hours after. (3) To alter the definitions of "City Abattoir," "Large Cattle, and "Small Cattle" to read as follows: - "Citv Abattoir" means the public slaughterhouse established by the Wellington City Council on the main road to Johnsonville and situated in Section 5 Porirua District and includes all pieces or parcels of land and all buildings or parts of 'buildings used by the councillor, abattoir" purposes, together with all paddocks from time to time used by" the council in connection therewith.
