j TRIBUTES TO UNION CO. (By Telegraph,—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. At a largely-attended luncheon on board the Awatea tendered by directors of the Union Company the Mayor (Mr. E. Davis), paid a tribute to the enterprise of the company, and said the Awatea's entry into the transTasman run should result in such development of traffic as would encourage the company to build a sister-ship. On behalf, of the citizens Mr. Davis presented Captain Davey with a handsome Maori carving as an emblem of good will.
' Other speakers enthusiastically congratulated the company on its great enterprise.
