PORTUGUESE LEGION
TO FIGHT COMMUNISM

LISBON, September- 16.
A decree has been published authorising the formation of a "Portuguese Legion," a voluntary army, to combat Communism and Anarchism.
"Portugual has her own defined doctrines, but the people are alarmed at perils from which other countries are suffering;" the decree states. "Twenty thousand have volunteered to form a Legion, and the Government accordingly has given the Legion shape." '
