M. ALEXANDER ZAIMIS
LONDON, September 16,
The death has occurred of M. Alexander Zaimis, a former President and Prime Minister of Greece.
M. Alexander Zaimis wan born in 1855 and educated at Athens, Leipzig, Berlin, and Heidelberg Universities, taking an LL.D. degree. He became a deputy in 1855 and was Minister o£ Justice in 1800. Five years later he was President of the Chamber and in 1897 was Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. In 1914 he became Governor of the National Bank of Greece, and in 1916, and "again in 1926, was Prime Minister in a coalition Government. In 1929 he became President of the Senate, and in the same year was President of the Republic.
