LIVESTOCK PRICES

SOME HEAVY YARDINGS

-The recent high prices for livestock showed a tendency to slacken at the sales held in the Dominion yesterday, generally because of heavier yardings. The entries at Johnsonville were large but prices suffered little in consequence, increases being recorded for some classes of stock. Heavy entries at Addington caused a sharp decline' in beef and a slight fall in fat sheep. Beef values. remained firm at Westfield although;few good-quality beasts were offered. More sheep of good allround quality were sold. Ewes predominated and were easier by up to 4s a head, wethers remaining firm. A good dem«nd for pigs arrested the recent decline. Large yardings were forward in the' major sections at the Bumside sale. Beef prices were easier, while mutton sold at late parity. JOHNSONVILLE PRICES.
