MASTERTON SALE,

Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their Masterton sale, held yesterday, as follows: —A medium entry of all classes of stock came forward and were offered to a large attendance. Fr'ces, with the exception of fat ewes, which showed a decline of about 2s per head, were on a par with last week's report. A total clearance was effected as follows:—Light fat ewes, 255; prime fat ewes, 27s 3d. Cattle: Backward calving dairy cows, £3 105, £4, to £4 2s 6d; springing heifers, £5: store dairy cows, £2 6s. Pigs- Small weaners, 13s 6d to Iss; weaners, 16s, 16s 6d. to 18s.

"The Post's" London correspondent under date August 12, advises that Mr. E. M. Griffiths, of Wellington, had an introduction to a firm of London agents for the Spanish Government. He was engaged to take over an aeroplane to Barcelona, a commission which he successfully accomplished. Mr. Griffiths made a non-stop flight accompanied by a mechanic. He did not experience any thrills. On handing over the machine to the Spanish Government authorities he went on to Toulouse and travelled back by air as a passenger.
