Irving Rebel, recognised in the theatre world as ar.accomplishedactor^ -ie^fn Srlal nim 'h&ESS Daughter." Other prominent players in the cast are Otto Kruger, Gloria Holden. Marguerite Churchill, and Edward Van Sloan. When he; was a student at Harvard University, Pichel specialised in dramatic courses. While he studied in Professor Bakers playshop," he also wrote the theatrical reviews for the "Boston Transcript. Aithough he was an actor for a short time after his graduation, Pichel soon turned to stage direction. For several years he has been a leader in the development of the ■ "Little Theatre movement in many American cities. He was successfully identified with the New York Theatre Guild. His work, "Modern Theatres," is widely used as a textbook in university dramatic courses. During his sixteen years in the theatre Pichel has also been a stage director for Lee Shubert, James K. Hackett, and Joseph Urban, and has received credit for the success, of many outstanding stage productions. Recently Pichel has devoted his talents to the screen as an actor.
