EXUBERANT "MO."
It seems that Roy Rene, the "Mo" of Stiffy and Mo, is known in England as weir as in Australia, and Val. Parnell, who books for the London Palladium, wants him for that English variety circuit. Mo, therefore, when he appears in "Laugh, Town, Laugh" at the Tivoli Theatre, will be having a full-dress rehearsal for engagements overseas, says the Melbourne "Age." The Tivoli producer, Wallace Parnell, already considers Mo the best variety comedian he has seen in Australia. "He is so quick-witted that he dries everybody up at rehearsals," the English producer said. "But he has been working on the same material year after year. Our idea has been to find new material for him, and to break new ground." Meanwhile, the producer is facing up to the task of keeping Mo to the script, without suppressing his exuberant gift for extempore humour.
