DEPORTATION ORDERED

AUCKLAND, This Day.
Following a burglary at the music store of Arthur Eady, James John Hawkins, aged 18, was convicted this morning of receiving from two fellowseamen on the steamer- Hertford a banjo and money of a total value of £38, knowing it was stolen. He was ordered to be deported. "I understand that they do not want him on the ship," said Mr. Noble, appearing for the accused. "Well, the shipping company will have to take him away on another ship. The probation officer will fix that up," said the Magistrate, Mr. Hunt. .
