OWNERS AND MINERS
CONFER
Proposals for the settlement of the recent troubles in the coal-mining industry were made at a conference between owners' and miners' representatives in Wellington yesterday, and delegates have now returned to submit these to the men. Until this is done the result of the conference will not be known, but it was stated last night that there is every reason to believe that a satisfactory settlement will be made.
