GOVERNOR'S ADVICE

REPLY TO PROTEST

THE ACCUSED REMANDED

(Received September 15; 11.50 a.m.) GIBRALTAR, September 14. Fourteen British subjects were remanded on charges arising out of Sunday's disturbances. Meanwhile homeless refugees assembled at Government House in order to protest. The police dispersed them after a fire-brigade had demonstrated with hoses. The Governor advised the refugees to return to their undamaged homes in Laltnea, where conditions are quiet, promising protection in the event of further warfare.
