Kltchingham, when the latter had suggested an application to the Minister of Internal Affairs for a permit to .conduct two totalisator trotting events at the next show, during a discussion at a meeting of the West Coast A., P., and I. Association. ■ \ ■ . ■.
' "I am serious," replied Mr. Kitchmgham,'and the chairman's motion that; application be made was carried. Mr. T. E.:Coates said that the Minister (the Hon. W. E. Parry) was greatly in favour of "picnic" race meetings, and would probably grant permits rather freely.
