FLOOD TIDE'S PROGRESS
Floods Tide, the four-year-old son of the imported French horse Tidal, who was second to Greek Shepherd in both the G.N. Derby and the G.N. St: Leger last season, is reported to be working along in excellent style at Takanini at present. His trainer, R. Miller, states that he may not make his first appearance this term till the Mitchelson Cup, but last season he showed himself to be a gelding ready to give of his best Without a race preparation! Mal-de-Mer, a brother to Flgod Tide, has shaped up a lot during . recent weeks, and he has also created -a favourable impression by tho dash displayed in recent gallops at Takanini. Ho is of the robust type, likely to thrive on racing, and while it is a little early for any prediction his progress up to the present has been encouraging.*
