PLEASANT ARRANGEMENTS

The preparations for the, Red Cross "Old English" Ball to be held at the end of the month are neanng completion. The social club committee is working with keen enthusiasm to make the function a successful and happy one. A limited number of invitation's have been sent out, tout everyone interested will be welcome to the ball. A great attraction will be the prize for the best "Old English" costume (lady or gentleman), which" will1 be a return trip to Rotorua and one week's stay there.

The hostesses for the ball will be Mrs. Hislop (Mayoress), Mrs. Knox Gilmer, Mrs. Walter Nash, Mrs. J. G: Coates, Mrs. Dennistoun-Wood, Mrs. Spidy, Mrs. L. O. Tripp, Mrs. F. S. Herbert, Mrs C. H. Chapman, Mrs. Hendry, and Mrs. E. G. White.

The conveners of committees are as follows:—Decorations and advertising, Mrs. Wray; supper, Mrs. DennistounWood and Mrs. Haslett; music, Mrs.L. Angus, Mrs. M. S. Galloway, and Mrs. H. Schneideman; invitations and secretarial work, Mrs. E. G. Downes. Tickets are now available at the St. George and Midland Hotels, the D.1.C., and Beggs. .V;
