UPPER HUTT HALLS

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —The question of public halls in the Borough of Upper Hutt is evidently causing a good deal of concern to the councillors. On behalf of the owners of one hall I have to protest against a statement made by one of the councillors as reported in the.columns of the "Evening Post" of July 7. The members of the Druids' Lodge take a pride in keeping their hall clean and in conformity with all the bylaws of the borough in every way, maintaining that the hall is a credit to the order and an asset to the' borough.—l am, etc..

W." O. THOMAS, Secretary.
