"I think the Minister of Transport (the Hon. R. Semple) is to be commended for his timely action to meet the increasing toll of the road," re-' marked Councillor J. H. Perrett at yesterday's meeting of the Manawatu County Council when a ■ letter from the Minister dealing with the Motor Vehicles Amendment Bill was received. Councillor Perrett said he disagreed with the Automobile Association that the speed limit of 30 m.p.h. through closely-settled areas was too low. •'.;;.■:
