TRAFFIC OFFENCES

Prosecutions for traffic offences were taken by Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M. in the Magistrate's Court yesterday Senior-Sergeant J. Dempsey prosecuted. ; ; , \ Charles Frederick Meachem, for failing to give asighal of his intention to draw out from the kerb, was -fined 5s and costs. : ; . For. driving in a .negligent manner, William Pike was fined 30s and costs and his licence was ordered to be endorsed. The defendant, who had swerved into another vehicle, said that either he must have fainted or that he roust have been dazzled by the sun in his eyes. Ante Marinovic, for dangerous driving in passing a tramcar on its incorrect side in John Stre.et, was fined 20s and costs. William Leslie Mudgway, charged with dangerous driving in'Adelaide Road, was fined £2 and costs. For passing a vehicle on an intersection John Frederick Jones was fined 5s and costs. ; For failing to give way to traffic approaching on the right Saul'Solomons and Frank Critchley were fined 10s and . costs, and Harold Raymond Humphrey and Walter Holloway Aplin were each fined 20s and costs. For riding a bicycle without a light Thomas.James Wildemoth and Alexander Frank Barclay, were each fined 10s and costs. Onslow Hillier Benge, Denis Burke, Chhotu Khusal, and Alphons Marcus were each fined 10s.and costs for driving without a licence, and Harold Raymond Humphrey was convicted and ordered to pay costs for the same offence.* .■'■■■ i ■ ' ■- Charged with driving a motor-car with- insufficient lights, Eric Sydney Dickinson, Phillip Leonard Lucas, and William Stanford Greer were each fined 5s and costs, and Stavley Ellis,for the same offence, was fined 10s and costs. , ' , Kenneth Campbell Allen, Arthur James Chalmers, and Charles Westwood Earle were fined 10s and costs for committing breaches of the parking regulations, and William John Freed was fined 5s and costs.

For using an unlicensed motor-car Denis Keeble Carey was fined 10s and costs. ■ .■..-■■ ,
