ACCLIMATISATION

AUCKLAND'S RECORD

REVENUE

(By Telegraph—Press .association.)

AUCKLAND, July 14.

Revenue, from game-bird licences sold in Auckland this year, in spite of the recently-increased fee, established a record, according to the president of the Acclimatisation Society (Mr. F. E. McKenzie). When it was reported at a meeting tonight, that the revenue exceeded last year's total by over £1000, it was claimed to be an extraordinary result and one far in excess of the expectations of members, who had doubted the wisdom of the Minister of Internal Affairs" increasing licence fees from £1 to 255.

Mr. McKenzie said the increase had been an experiment put into force by the Minister, who should .be pleased with the result and who was deserving of thanks for his action in giving the society such encouragement.
