MEAT FOR BRITAIN
The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board is advised by cable from its London office that the shipments from Australia, South America, and South Africa to the United Kingdom during the month of June, 1936, were as follows:—Australia: Mutton ccs., 119,672; lamb ccs., 330.427; beef (frozen) qrs., 166,689; chilled qrs., 22,057. South America: Mutton ccs., 54,826; lamb ccs., 237,044; beef (frozen) qrs., 974; chilled qrs., 521,763. Included in the South American figures are 86,211 carcases of lamb and 39,733 carcases of mutton shipped from Patagonia. South Africa (including Southern Rhodesia): Beef (chilled) qrs., 8780. The shipments from New Zealand to the United Kingdom for the same period were as follows:—Mutton ccs., 126,797; lamb ccs., 809,069; beef (frozen) qrs., 15,730; chilled qrs., 13,604.
