COMBINED SCHOOL

MASTERTON PROPOSAL

(Special to the "Evening Post.")

MASTERTON, This Day.

Prior to the departure of Mr. J. Robertson, M.P., for Rarotonga, the Minister of Education (the Hon. ■ P. Fraser) -forwarded him the following letter on the subject of the amalgamation of the Wairarapa High School and the Masterton Technical High School: "In reply to your letter of June 19, I regret that I am not able to intimate to you my decision in regard to the question of the amalgamation of the High School and the Technical High School at Masterton before you sail for Rarotonga. I have given much consideration to the matter, and have recently visited various types of schools for the reason, among others, of obtaining as much first-hand information as possible concerning the operation of combined schools as distinct from high schools and technical high schools. I will be in a position by the time you return from Rarotonga to intimate my decision to you and to the Wairarapa Secondary Education Board."
