AIR RAID PRECAUTIONS

EXTRA BRITISH VOTE

£850,000 FOR GAS MASKS

(Received July 15, 11.20 sun.) LONDON, July 14. Supplementary Civil Estimates for £4,006,000 include a further £850,000 for gas masks, £37,000 for air raid precautions, and also £2,930,000 for extension of the cattle subsidy and £20,000 for works at the palaces the King is occupying. The Government, believing that it has found a gas mask which is as perfect as is at present possible, is starting production immediately. They will be stored in convenient centres throughout the country and distributed in an emergency. Meanwhile, facilities will be given for the public to try the masks and accustom themselves to their us'j. ■ ■ . ■
