NEW COMMANDER
(Received July 15, 9 ajn.) . CANTON, July 14. I A joint session of the South-west | Political and Executive Councils elected General Chen Chi-tang commander- | in-chief-of the Kwansi and Kwantung armies. He will direct the resistance of the Cantonese forces to Nanking armies.
Yesterday it was reported that the Central Executive Committee had decided to abolish the South-west Political Council and to dismiss General Chen Chi-tang from the command of the Kwantung army.
