The Daily Mail" says that Ames has sunered a recurrence of the muscular rheumatism which caused his retirement m the middle innings in the fifth Test against Australia in 1934, and which is now preventing his reappearance in county cricket. It is feared that it has spoiled his chances of selection for the Australian tour.
