RUGBY, July 11,
New properties acquired for the nation by the National Trust during the past year, according to the annual report issued today, numbered 30, and were more numerous than in any previous year, while the acreage owned or protected by the trust, Including some of the most beautiful rural areas in Britain, has actually increased by 50 per cent, in the past two years.
These trust properties, dotted all over the country, are most numerous within easy reach of large centres oi population, but the trust, with an eye to the future, has also' acquired during recent. years a number of big and rather remote estates which improved transport facilities will bring within reach of popular enjoyment.
