AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE

SYDNEY, July. 13,
Wing-Commander L. J. Wackett and Squadron-Leaders A. W. Murphy and H. C. Harrison, of the Australian Air Force, returned by the Monterey after a world tour of investigation preparatory to the manufacture of aircraft in Australia under the scheme sponsored by the Government.
Wing-Commander Wackett declared that Australia was quite capable of building all the military aeroplanes required for her.defence. Nothing during his visit to Britain, America, and the Continent had impressed him so much as the progress made in British military aircraft. "Both in quality and quantity John Bull's Air Force will be number one," he said.
